Royal Baby Watch

Live: Royal baby watch

Watch coverage from outside the Lindo wing of St Mary's Hospital in west London, where the Duchess of Cambridge has been admitted in the early stages of labour.

Kate Middleton is a step closer to becoming a mum after going into labour. The Duchess of Cambridge was taken to the Lindo wing of St Mary's Hospital in Paddington, London, this morning. She travelled by car from Kensington Palace to the Lindo Wing of the hospital with Prince William. A brief statement from Kensington Palace was released at 7.30am after rumours she had been spotted began circulating. The 31-year-old, who married Prince William in April 2011 , is hoping to have a natural birth, St James' Palace aides revealed last month. The baby is set to be delivered by obstetrician Marcus Setchell, who has been gynaecologist to the Queen since 1990 and delivered Sophie Wessex’s two children.
